Neofer 100

Composition: 1 ml injection solution contains:

Fe (III)-hydroxide dextran complex 292 mg

Indications: Prophylaxis and therapy of anemia, extensive hemorrhage, secondary

anemia at diseases of different etiologies in piglets, calves, cattle, horses, sheep, goats

and dogs.

Contraindications: The use of this drug on piglets whose mothers suffer from

deficiency of selenium and / or vitamin E is contraindicated, because it is known that

such a disturbance can be, along with injections of DPG, the cause of the sudden death

of piglets. The product is not given for fattening pigs, but only in animal breeding.

Side effects: At piglets, after administration of medicine with iron supplements there

may sporadically, occur sudden collapse and death after prophylactic doses, after at

least 3 to 12 h after application. This situation is treated by giving antihistamines,

glucocorticoids and adrenomimetics. At the site of application may be transient local

reactions and tissue staining.

Target species: horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and dogs.

Dosage and method of administration:

The drug is given deep intramuscular (im) in the following doses:

Piglets: – preventive, 2 ml / pig on the third day of life,

– therapeutic 2-3 ml / pig;

Calves: – preventive, 5-10 ml / calf first 10 days of life,

– therapeutic, 5-15 mL / calf;

Cattle, horses: – 5-10 ml / animal

Sheep, goats: – 2-3 ml / animal

Dogs: – preventive, 0.2-0.5 ml in the first week of life,

-therapeutic- 2 times per 0.5 ml in the range 1 to 2 weeks.

Instructions for proper use of drugs: The drug should be applied exclusively by deep

intramuscular injection.

Withdrawal period: No restrictions on the use of meat of treated animals. If it comes to

emergency slaughter, part of the tissue at the site of application should be thrown away.

Special warnings

For use on animals

Piglets can come to a sudden collapse and death after prophylactic administration of

parenteral dosage of medicine. Anaphylactic reactions are possible at the targeted

species.

Some metals, such as copper and cobalt, work catalytically during physiological

exploitation of iron because they encourage erythropoiesis. Vitamin E and selenium

reduce sensitivity to the toxic effects of iron.

Special considerations for persons administering veterinary medicine

When applying the drug avoid direct contact with the skin or mucous membranes, or

eyes. After each application hands should be washed and medicine kept out of the reach

of children.

Special precautions for disposal and destruction of drug

Unused drug or drug residues shall be destroyed in accordance with applicable

regulations.

Storage: In sealed containers at temperatures below 25 ° C, out of reach of children.

Shelf life in original packaging: 2 years.

Shelf life after opening: 28 days
