Neosulf

 Composition: 1 ml solution for injection contains:

Trimethoprim 40 mg

Sulfadimidin 200 mg

Indications: The drug is used to treat respiratory infections of bacterial origin (bronchitis,

pneumonia), infections of the urogenital tract, gastrointestinal tract infections, mastitis,

bacterial agalactia of sows, wound infections, septicemia, infection of the hooves caused

by microorganisms sensitive to the active substance in the medicinal product.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, damage to liver, kidney and

hematopoietic organs.

Side effects: It may develop hypersensitivity, damage to the liver parenchyma,

dyscrasias of blood elements. At dogs can occur crystaluria, hematuria and blockage of

renal tubula.Dehydratation and acidic urine are the cause of these side effects.

In ruminants it may disturb the intestinal flora.

At treated animals may occur vomiting, diarrhea and anorexia, and in dogs may occur

facial edema, hepatitis and bilateral keratoconjunctivitis sicca after long use. Sometimes

occurs less pain or discomfort during application, irritation at the application site.

Target species: horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and dogs.

Dosage and method of administration: The drug is administered i.m. or slow

intravenous (horses exclusively i.v.) in the following volumes: 1 mL/10-16 kg of body

weight per day. The average volume of products is:

Cattle, horses: 15-25 mL

Calves,foals : 5-10 mL

Pigs: 3-8 mL

Sheep: 1-3 mL

Treatment lasts 3-5 days.

Instructions for proper use of the product: This product can not be applied by s.c.

How the drug is excreted through the kidneys, it is necessary to provide sufficient

quantities of drinking water.In the event of hypersensitivity reactions apply adrenalin and

if necessary antihistamines and glucocorticoids.

Withdrawal period: Meat and edible organs of animals are not for human consumption

during treatment. Meat of bovine animals can be used for human consumption 34 days

after the last administration of the drug. Pigs can be send at slaughter 28 days after the

last treatment of drug .The drug is not used in horses whose meat is intended for human

consumption.

Milk is not used for human consumption during treatment. Milk can be used for human

consumption 6.5 days (156 hours) after the last administration of the drug.

Special considerations:

Use in pregnancy and lactation:

The drug may be used during pregnancy and lactation, with increased caution.

Special considerations for persons administering the veterinary medicinal product

to animals:

People sensitive to sulfonamides and trimethoprim should avoid handling with this drug.

At people who handle with drug can occur contact dermatitis.At drug administration

should avoid direct contact with the skin and mucous membranes and eyes. Hands after

each application should be washed and the drug keep out of the reach of children.

Special precautions for disposal and destruction of drug

Unused drug or drug residues shall be destroyed in accordance with applicable

regulations.

Special considerations for storing drugs:

Store in the original package at temperatures to 25 ° C, keep out of reach of children.

Shelf life: 2 years in original packaging.

Shelf life after opening: use right away.
