Neovit C
Composition: 1 ml solution for injection contains:
Ascorbic acid 100mg
Indications: hypovitaminosis and avitaminosis C, bleeding (hemorrhagic diathesis),
supporting the causal therapy of various infectious diseases (pneumonia, canine
distemper, leptospirosis etc.), different poisoning (bacterial toxins, alimentary and
medicamentous poisoning, poisoning with sulphapreparations, preparations of arsenic
and lead), functional sterility based on C-hypovitaminosis, eczema and promoting wound
healing.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any of its constituents, and acidosis.
Side effects: After application of the drug they may appear local, transient irritant
reactions accompanied by pain and intravenous swelling.Fast i.v. application can cause
collapse. Also, after i.v. application of this drug in dogs can lead to increased diuresis,
which results in poor dehydration.
If you notice serious or any other side effects, that is not listed here, notify the competent
veterinarian.
Target species: horses, foals, cattle, calves, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs
Dosage and method of administration:
The drug is administered i.m. or slow i.v. in the next dose (amount):
Horses, cattle: 10-20ml
Pigs, sheep, calves, foals: 5-10mL
Dogs: 1-5mL
The drug is applied once a day, in the course of several days, depending on the
assessment of veterinarians.
Instructions for proper use of drugs:
The drug is administered with the usual measures of asepsis and antisepsis.
At one injection site in large animals should not be given more than 10 ml of this
preparation. The product should be applied by slowly intravenously because the rapid
application may collapse.
Intravenous administration of this drug has the advantage over intramuscular, because
with this method the application avoids locally stimulant effect of the drug.
Withdrawal period: No limit.
Special warnings
For use in animals:
After i.v. use of this drug in dogs is possible that increased diuresis can result in poor
dehydration.
The drug may be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Vitamin C in high doses can potentially cause gastrointestinal disturbances and
urolithiasis.
Iron supplements reduce concentration ascorbic acid in plazma.Acetylsalicylic acid and
sodium salicylate increases the secretion of ascorbic acid, while the excretion of
salicylates slows down, so that in this way increases their toxicity.
Special considerations for storing drugs:
Store in original container at temperatures up to 25 °C, keep out of reach of children.
Shelf life in original packaging: 2 years.
Shelf life after opening: use right away.
Special precautions for disposal and destruction of drug
Unused drug or drug residues shall be destroyed in accordance with applicable
regulations.
Method of issue: On prescription of veterinarian.
Packaging: Glass bottle of 50 mL and 100 mL.
