Neophenicol P

Composition: 1 g oral powder contains:

20 mg florfenicol

Indications: Pneumonia (Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae), atrophic rhinitis

(Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica), Glasser’s disease (Haemophilus

parasuis) and other respiratory, gastrointestinal and urogenital disease of pigs caused by

microorganisms susceptible to florfenicol.

Contraindications: does not apply in pregnancy, and at adult males intended for

breeding.The drug is not given to animals for which there is some information about

previous allergic reactions to florfenicol preparations.

Side effects: in swine can occur perianal edema and / or erythema and transient

diarrhea.There may be a reduced intake of food and water at the beginning of therapy.

Target species: Pigs

Dosage and method of administration: The daily oral dose of florfenicol at pigs is

10mg/kg of body weight

Individual treatment: drug is used mixed with food (dry or wet) in the amount of 5 g of

powder (one teaspoon) per 10 kg of body weight

Mass treatment of pigs: 10kg of medicine at 1t of food. The recommended dose of 200g

florfenicol / t feed is a therapeutic concentration (200ppm).

The therapy lasts 7 days at most.

Instructions for proper use of drugs: The drug mixed with feed use right away.During

treatment, provide a sufficient amount of drinking water for pigs.

Withdrawal period: Meat of treated pigs is not for human consumption during

treatment, and 20 days after the last application of the medicine.

Special considerations: The drug does not apply with tiamfenicolom and bactericidal

drugs (aminoglycoside antibiotics, beta-lactam antibiotics, fluoroquinolones, polymyxin et

al.). Florfenicol perpetuates action fenitiona, tolbutamide, chlorpropamide and

anticoagulants.

Use in pregnancy and lactation: The drug is not used on animals during pregnancy.

Special considerations for persons administering the veterinary medicinal product

to animals: When applying the drug should avoid direct contact with skin and mucous

membranes, or eyes.Hands should be washed after each application and medicine

should be kept out of the reach of children.

Special considerations for storing drugs: Store in original container at temperatures

up to 25°C, out of reach of children.

Special precautions for disposal and destruction of drug:

Unused drug or drug residues shall be destroyed in accordance with applicable

regulations.

Method of issuance: on prescription of veterinarian

Shelf life: 2 years in original packaging.

Shelf-life after mixing of the food: use right away.

Packaging: bag of 100 g, bags of 500 g and 5 kg.
