Description
Neoampicillin P 20%
Composition: 1 g oral powder contains:
Ampicillin-trihydrate 200mg
Indications: Treatment of respiratory and gastrointestinal infections caused by sensitive
strains of E. coli.
Contraindications:
Application of the drug is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to ampicillin and
other β-lactam antibiotics and cephalosporins.
The drug is not indicated for ruminants, horses and small herbivores (rabbits, guinea
pigs, hamsters and gerbils). Drug is not indicated for laying hens.
Side effects
Rarely, especially after oral administration over a prolonged period of time, it can cause
suppression of the saprophytic bacterial flora and nausea, diarrhea, anorexia.Also
possible hypersensitivity reactions.

Dosage and method of administration
The drug is given via the drinking water at a dose of:
Swine: 0,5-1g of powder/10kg bw (equivalent to 10-20 mg of ampicillin trihydrate/ kg
bw).Dosage interval is 12-24 hours. Therapy lasts for 3-5 days.
Broilers: 187.5 g of powder/ 100 L of drinking water (equivalent to 50 mg ampicillin
trihydrate / kg bw) in 3-5 days.
Prepare fresh solution daily.
Instructions for proper use of the drug
The drug should be dissolved in a small volume of water, then mix with the estimated
total amount of water.
Because of the increasing development resistance E.coli to ampicillin, before drug
administration, it is recommended making of antibiograms of isolated strains.
Withdrawal period
Meat and edible tissues of animals is not for human consumption during treatment and
28 days after the last application of the medicine.
Special warnings
For use on animals
In the absence of incompatibility studies, the drug must not be mixed with other
veterinary drugs .It is not recommended concomitant use with other bacteriostatic drugs
(tetracycline, tiamfenicol, florfenicol, erythromycin) because it leads to a reduction of
their antibacterial activity. Do not use in laying hens.
Special considerations for people who give animals medicine
Due to the possible occurrence of irritation and contact dermatitis should avoid direct
contact with eyes, skin or mucous membranes .While preparing the drug you should
wear protective equipment (protective clothing, gloves, mask), and hands washed after
each drug administration.
The drug should be kept out of reach of children.
In case of allergic reaction, seek help from doctor.People sensitive to penicillin should
not participate in the preparation of the drug.
Special precautions for disposal and destruction of drug
Unused product or waste material should be disposed in accordance with applicable
regulations.

The drug kept in the original packaging, protected from light, at temperatures below 25 °
C. Keep out of the reach of children.
